Our History

The origins of B Developments dates back four generations to the early 1930’s when Ángel Barbagallo started Angel Barbagallo Inmobiliaria in Buenos Aires, Argentina. They focused on auctions, construction, and both real estate and mortgage brokerage .The transition to the United States real estate market began in the mid-nineties. Since then, B Developments has evolved to B Group, LLC to include B Developments, B Group Capital, Urbanland Realty, and Magna Inversora. B Group Capital has been enhanced significantly by the successful development and completion of major capital improvements, active management and a comprehensive leasing strategy with “value-add” opportunities.

As co-founder and chairman of the B Group Holding Company board and managing member of B Developments, Miguel Angel Barbagallo is a natural-born leader. With over 40 years of experience in international real estate, Miguel Angel has revolutionized the Miami landscape with a focus on creating development and land acquisition projects based on integrity, quality, and excellence.

Miguel Angel’s experience in market sourcing, strategic planning, and management of comprehensive development and construction teams has grown B Developments into a successful and reputable company. Miguel Angel has evolved the 90-year-old family company, transitioning from a successful South American firm to taking on the United States market. He obtained recognition for his forward-thinking vision in underdeveloped markets, which later surged with his influence. Landmark projects include Terrazas River Park in Miami River/Allapattah, Altos de Miami in Little Havana, and Zoi House in Coconut Grove.

As the company grew, Miguel Angel led B Group Holding Company to new real estate markets such as asset management in both the commercial and residential sectors. This strategic direction led to the purchase and sale of hundreds of garden-style apartments and now 2.5 million square feet of commercial office and warehouse space throughout the southern United States.

His doctoral degree in civil law and consumers rights is complemented by his passion for sports, arts, and philosophy. Today, he’s proud of the efforts he and his brother, Alberto Jorge Edgardo Barbagallo, have put into creating a legacy for their family company that will last for generations.

Alberto Barbagallo is the co-founder and current member of the board of directors of B Group Holding Company. Along with his brother, Miguel Angel Barbagallo, Alberto has maintained a key role in positioning the family company as a pioneer in various real estate developments specializing in underdeveloped submarkets throughout Buenos Aires and South Florida. Alberto’s work centers around investor relations, capital stack optimization, and equity funding.

With an experience of more than four decades, Alberto has been involved in the purchase and sale of more than 2,700 residential and commercial units with more than 5 million square feet between the U.S. and Argentina. His educational background includes a bachelor’s in accounting as well as a master’s degree in Financial Administration. With a vast experience in the real estate market, his passion for outdoor sports, mathematics, history, and traveling around the world, he has gained the knowledge and worldly perspective to initiate long-term planning, strategic decision-making, project evaluation, conflict resolution, financial analysis, tax analysis, and structuring different real estate investments within the company.

Looking back at their work and the new projects they have in store, Alberto is immensely proud of the efforts that have led to the growth of B Group alongside his brother. Navigating the real estate market with expertise in business development, Sebastian Barbagallo is the CEO of B Group Capital Management and B Developments. His academic background began with a bachelor’s in finance and advanced to a master’s in real estate. Paired with an experience of over 20 years working across multiple real estate sectors, Sebastian has the innate knowledge to see investment opportunities and develop the family’s business. He is currently a key person in the decision-making process of new market selection and the negotiation of new assets within the current markets of Miami, Orlando, Tampa, and Atlanta.

Sebastian manages the extensive portfolio of B Group Capital Managements by securing funding, deal sourcing, and contract negotiation. His meticulous analytical approach has allowed him to spearhead the purchase of more than $230 million worth of real estate to evolve the investment, reporting, and funding structure into an institutional-oriented platform.

Since 1998, he has been involved in the family company in different capacities, working his way up by handling the day-to-day operations of the company. The versatility of his experience, including the disposition of B Group Capital Managements’ residential portfolio in 2012 and the marketing and sales management of Altos de Miami Condominiums and Terrezas River Park Village, helped him become a seasoned professional recognized in the real estate industry.

Leading the team in day-to-day operations is Franco Barbagallo, B Group Capital Management’s chief operating officer who oversees the operational management in all of their markets. Franco’s dedicated experience is strengthened by his precise reporting and analytic abilities. With an understanding of different markets, Franco has negotiated hundreds of leases for B Group Capital Management, generating more than $3 million in monthly income. He sets a high standard for the condition of each property while maintaining the operations costs below market for efficiency.

Franco has implemented very successful processes in the company, orienting their operations towards the optimization of preventive maintenance, capital improvements, and leasing costs. With his naturally cost-cautious approach and drive for excellence, the properties under his guidance continue to outperform in the market.

Guido Barbagallo began working at B Developments in high school as an architectural assistant. Throughout the years, he has worked alongside seasoned project managers that developed projects like Altos de Miami, Terrazas River Park Village, and various single-family homes. After completing high school, Guido gained further experience in B Developments while attending college in Miami. He later moved to New York City where he obtained his architectural degree at Pratt Institute and interned in award-winning architecture firms, including de-spec, during the summer. When he returned to Miami, Guido spearheaded the construction, architecture, and development team of Zoi House at Coconut Grove. While doing so, Guido also worked on capital improvement projects in the B Group Capital Managements portfolio, ranging from intimate breakroom areas to entire lobby renovations. Guido’s background and fresh perspective make him the company’s best resource for product definition and the future of developments, identifying the correct and best use for each new development project. Along with managing development and construction, Guido leads the marketing efforts and corporate image for B Group Holdings.

Based in their Argentina office, Bruno is the international office director with a focus on the Latin American market. He has been with the international division of the firm for over a decade, involved in all aspects of development from acquisition and construction management to marketing and disposition.

Bruno’s law degree allows him to handle complex contract review and negotiations, corporate structure, and evaluating legal risk under a very challenging business environment in the overseas market. Using his experience and calculated judgment, he leads in the decision-making of investments in Argentina as well as administrates active financial and real estate assets.

Together with Alberto, they lead the Argentina branch of B Group Holding Company that specializes in the financial analysis of current and future projects as well as the raising of capital for new projects.
